Day Two of the 2026 South Carolina Aggregates Association Mid-Year Meeting at Barnsley Resort brought members together for a full day of education, industry insight, friendly competition, and memorable moments of connection.

The morning began with breakfast, generously sponsored by Superior Custom Services, before attendees gathered for a dynamic lineup of educational sessions. Members received important updates on legislative issues and the economic outlook, followed by an engaging and interactive keynote presentation, “Everyone’s in Sales.” The session encouraged attendees to think differently about the role each of us plays in building relationships, communicating value, and contributing to the success of our organizations and industry.

The morning also included the graduation of the 2026 SCAA Emerging Leaders cohort. After completing seven months of professional development focused on leadership, geographic awareness, and industry knowledge, the graduates presented their capstone projects during the Mid-Year Meeting. Their accomplishments represent an exciting investment in the future of the aggregates industry, and we look forward to sharing more about this year’s graduates in a dedicated feature.

After a morning of learning, the afternoon took a fun and competitive turn as 12 teams took aim during the on-site Clay Shoot Tournament. With plenty of friendly competition and camaraderie throughout the course, teams enjoyed an afternoon that showcased another important part of the Mid-Year Meeting: creating opportunities to connect beyond the meeting room. The tournament winners will be recognized during tonight’s Derby Party.

Later in the day, members gathered for the President’s Reception, an evening centered on gratitude and appreciation for the individuals who have helped guide the South Carolina Aggregates Association throughout the years. Guests enjoyed a private bourbon tasting while celebrating the contributions of SCAA Past and Current Presidents Elliott Botzis, Brannon McGiboney, and Jim Thompson. Their service and commitment have helped shape the SCAA and continue to strengthen the association’s foundation.

The evening continued with Pizza, Pints & Play, where members and their families enjoyed wood-fired pizza, lawn games, and time to relax together in the beautiful surroundings of Barnsley Resort. The day concluded with S’mores Night, bringing friends and families together for one final evening of conversation, laughter, and connection.

From meaningful educational opportunities to friendly competition and relaxed moments with colleagues, friends, and family, Day Two captured the spirit of the SCAA Mid-Year Meeting: learning together, celebrating one another, and strengthening the relationships that support our industry.
